I. Overview
IES 258-5/1W.k burner automatic controller is a kind of controller which can directly start and monitor burner operation; it can use ionization.
Flame monitoring or ultraviolet UV monitoring, also can be used to ignite and monitor a common electrode operating mode.
This controller is suitable for other control systems without purging or purging, and the direct ignition power is not high.
It has a 350KW burner with combustion-supporting air and two modes of local switch and remote button reset. This controller
It meets the European Gas Application Standard EN298.
II. Technical Indicators
1. Power supply: AC220V +10% 50HZ
2. Ambient temperature: – 20 C + 60 C, no condensation
3. Flame detection current: adjustment between 2-20uA
4. Protection Level: IP40
5. Ignition Cable: <5 m (Suitable for High Temperature and High Voltage Wire)

III. Control Panel Description
IV. Installation and wiring precautions:
1. Fixed wiring should be used for power supply. Fire line L and zero line N should not be connected in reverse, otherwise equipment will be damaged.
2
2. The solenoid valve and ignition transformer are driven by 220AC power supply from the controller, and the maximum output current is 2A.
Each output current shall not exceed 2.5A.
3. Combustion Indicator Contact (Terminal 13-14) and Fault Signal Contact (Terminal 8-9): Maximum Current: 2A,
Maximum voltage: 253V.
4. The maximum operating voltage of UV flame detector is 230V, and there is no fuse protector inside.
5. When using single electrode, the 7 # terminal of burner and controller must be grounded, otherwise the equipment will be damaged.
6. When using UV ultraviolet probe, 7 # terminal should not be grounded.
7. Terminals 11 and 12 are joined internally.
8. Installation: It can be installed with U-shaped 35mm guide rail, 113mm in length, or straight on two mounting holes on the bottom plate.
Connecting screw installation, installation hole spacing is 70 mm. The controller is 113 wide, 75 high and 120 deep.
9. Plastic cable protective tube for testing line should be separated from main cable in order to avoid external transmission.
Electromagnetic interference. When ionization monitoring mode and UV monitoring mode are adopted and the detection line length is longer than 5 meters, suggestions are made.
The detection line is constructed with shielded cable of > 500VAC, single-electrode detection mode and distance of > 5m.
The shielded cable of > 20KV is recommended.
10. The two fixed screws on the controller must be tightened before the controller is powered on.
11. The second ignition should be carried out 20 seconds after the alarm light is red, so as to avoid overload damage.
V. Circuit Inspection and Debugging
1. Circuit Inspection and Debugging
Firstly, check whether the fire line L1, zero line N and other lines are connected properly according to the regulations, and then close them after confirming that they are correct.
Hand valve, start system; Close switch on burner controller IES258 panel, green light on; Close ignition
Switch, that is, supply power to terminal 3 and start operation procedure. After about 3 seconds, the gas solenoid valve opens.
When the burner ignites, after safe time, the burner controller will send out a fault signal, and the red light on the panel will turn on.
Close between terminals 8 and 9; open the hand valve, reset the fault signal and restart the operation process.
The burner is ignited, the yellow light on the panel is turned on, and the terminals 13 and 14 are closed. Explain that the line is well connected.
The system is normal.
2. Current adjustment for flame monitoring
The flame monitoring current can be adjusted between 2uA and 20uA. Adjustment method: loosen the fixed bolt of the controller.
Pull out the controller from the base and adjust the potentiometer on the panel to the required position. (If it’s on the panel
If the yellow light is always on or before ignition, it needs to be reset. Actual flame measured
The monitoring current should be at least 3uA higher than the set value. Load the controller back to the base and tighten the bolt.

6. Accident analysis and treatment
1. Notes:
Live operation is strictly prohibited! Power must be cut off during overhaul!
Only professionals can analyze and deal with accidents.
Do not tear off the label without authorization, otherwise the warranty will be invalid and the equipment will be damaged due to unauthorized maintenance and wiring errors.
Bad, for example: the power supply is connected to the output end, resulting in gas valve opening and equipment damage due to user use.
Improper damage to equipment does not fall within the scope of warranty.
Far transmission reset must be completed by professionals, and the burner to be reset should be monitored on site.
2. Handling Accidents
If there is a system failure, the burner controller will automatically close the gas valve, and the accident alarm red light on the panel will be given.
Light up. Please troubleshoot according to the following.
Check the cause of the accident and deal with it. After dealing with it, check the whole system thoroughly.
It fails. After checking, press the reset button and the burner controller will restart once. If the controller remains
However, it did not restart, removed the whole equipment, and returned to the manufacturer for inspection.
Measures to Deal with Possible Causes of Accident Phenomena
Start No
Ignition Spark
Red light
Ignition voltage is too low
Ignition Transformer with Ignition Voltage (> 5KV) – Single Electrode, please use
Ignition transformer COFI or TRE
The ignition cable is too long to shorten the ignition cable to 1m (up to 5m)
The distance between the ignition electrode and the burner head is too large to adjust the distance between the electrode and the burner head. The maximum distance is not more than 2m.
Poor contact between ignition cable and electrode joint to reconfirm the connection between cable and electrode joint
Ignition cable grounding check cable installation, wipe ignition electrode
Ignition transformer is not connected to 10 # terminal to check whether ignition transformer is connected to 10 # terminal and whether the supply voltage is normal.
Start No

Gas control valve is not opened to check the supply voltage of gas valve
There is no air in the pipeline, such as pipeline installation.
Not used for a long time afterwards
Clean the pipeline and reset it several times

Output Short Connection for Ignition Transformer or Gas Valve
Check wiring (Suggestion: If it is found that the output end of feed gas valve is short connected, burner control
The manufacturer shall return to the manufacturer for inspection. Otherwise: replacement, 3.15A, with delay.
H-type fuse. The safety operation was checked. (Attached).
Four
Explain:
1. Inspection of safety operation
Close the hand valve
Start the burner controller several times to check whether it works properly.
If the burner controller does not work properly, please return to the manufacturer for inspection and repair.
Note: If this test is not carried out, the gas valve may remain open when the burner controller fails.
Start-up state, resulting in gas leakage has the risk of explosion!
2. When testing the flame monitoring current, please use an insulating probe to measure the flame monitoring current so as to avoid electric shock.
IES 258 burner controller does not require routine maintenance.
Measures to Deal with Possible Causes of Accident Phenomena
Start-up Burner ignition
Yellow light not on
The monitored current for measuring flame is lower than the set value.
The setting value of flame monitoring current is too high.
Due to carbon, coking, dust or moisture on the insulating sleeve of the electrode, flame monitoring
Measuring electrode short circuit.
The position of the flame ionization monitoring electrode is not located at the root of the flame.
Incorrect gas/air ratio.
Due to the high gas pressure or air pressure, the flame does not contact the burner head.
The burner or controller is not properly grounded.
Short connection or break of flame monitoring cable.
UV ultraviolet flame monitors the viscera and cannot detect the flame.
Material problems of electrodes, replacement of electrodes.
