Why does forest moss change to yellow or brown instead of staying green?

Forest moss is harvested from nature, so its color may vary widely depending on the season and climate. It can appear green, yellow, or brown. This natural variation doesn’t affect the overall quality or its ability to retain moisture.
Why does natural forest moss have a distinct smell?

Since the moss is naturally harvested, it carries a forest-like scent that intensifies when soaked. If you’re sensitive to it, reduce watering. You can also air it outdoors, place it in a well-ventilated space, or use a bit of diluted tea tree oil.
Why does the moss seem less than expected?

The moss is dried and vacuum-sealed for storage. If hard to separate, lightly mist with water or soak directly. Once it absorbs water, it will expand significantly, increasing in size and volume compared to its dry state.
How should I store dry forest moss for long-term use?

Keep it in a cool, dry place away from humidity and direct sunlight. Never store damp moss—ensure it is completely dry before storing. For unused portions, allow it to dry thoroughly before storing to avoid unwanted growth or spoilage.
Why are there small impurities in the moss?

Made from 100% natural forest moss, each batch is hand-picked and sun-dried by skilled workers. Due to the manual process, tiny impurities like soil or twigs may remain, but they have no negative impact on overall quality.

Real Dried Forest Moss: Made from 100% hand-picked and sun-dried forest moss. Our long-fibered moss is distinct from typical sphagnum or Spanish moss. Cleaned and dried for long-term storage, then easy to rehydrate by soaking in water before use. The 5 Lbs size can expand up to about 64 Quarts when soaked.
Moss For Potting Mixes: Our moss can be used for moisture-loving plants such as orchids, helping maintain moisture around the roots when used alone or combined with other potting media. Ideal for orchid moss setups, houseplant growing media and custom mixes with bark, perlite, pumice or charcoal. It is also a versatile cover for indoor plants like Monstera, bonsai, climbing plants, Venus carnivorous plants and succulents.
Multiple Purpose: Moss for potted plants can also be used as a soil cover, for plant propagation, rooting boxes, outdoor moss liners, kokedama, terrariums and vivariums. It is suitable for orchid repotting, indoor gardening and other plant-growing projects that need a natural forest-moss texture.
Multiple Sizes For Different Projects: Available in 6 sizes: 2 Oz, 5 Oz, 10 Oz, 1.25 Lbs, 2.1 Lbs and 5 Lbs. The 2 Oz size is suitable for trial use, small pots or light soil cover. 5 Oz works well for small orchid repotting projects, while 10 Oz is suitable for a few propagation setups. 1.25 Lbs works well for larger repotting needs, and 2.1 Lbs and 5 Lbs are better for plant collections, terrarium builds and habitat setups.
Easy Steps: Please wear gloves when handling the moss and soak it in a container of warm water, preferably outdoors. To decompress, either spray gently with water or soak quickly; the moss will expand to its full size. After soaking, squeeze out the excess water and gently separate the moss by hand before use. Though compressed for quality preservation and waste reduction, it will naturally fluff up once hydrated, adding natural beauty to your indoor space.
Natural Moss Notice: For all customers, whether sensitive to strong scents or not, we recommend handling the moss outdoors and waiting until it airs out before bringing it inside. Since it is made from natural forest moss, it has a distinct earthy scent, especially when soaked. Our moss is naturally sourced, so its green color and texture may vary with the weather and season, which may cause slight differences from the listing images.
Quality Commitment: We ensure that our dried moss undergo strict quality control procedures to meet our high-quality requirements. If, for any reason, you are not fully satisfied with our product, please feel free to contact us, and our professional customer service staff will be delighted to provide you with a replacement or refund.
